  • Tesla Model Y sales set record in Norway

Norway has come up to be the biggest electric vehicle market in Europe and Tesla has declared a major achievement in the country. The yearly sales of Tesla Model Y has exceeded all the other sales of the vehicles as it sold 3738 Model Y in the country.

The year has still not ended and Tesla has already sold enough cars of the Model Y to break the record of the previous annual sales which was set by Volkswagen Beetle in the year 1969. The automobile company has been seeing lesser sales in the other countries though apart from Norway. The dominant position of the company in the international markets is now a lot more futile than it ever was with Elon Musk apparently busy with his twitter obsession. The customers have been treated with many discounts in the locations where the EV manufacturer has been losing its base and the stocks were piling up. Tesla has also been telling its staff that there might be some hiring freeze or layoffs in the coming year and therefore this problem is going to go beyond sales. This is going to be concerning because Tesla is facing difficulty in ramping its production up at the Berlin and Giga Texas plants.

There is a new production line for the Cybertruck which is being constructed in the city of Austin by Tesla which is now also producing Semis. There is a realistic chance that it is going to do so without adding anymore people but without them Tesla is going to not be able to implement all the modifications which it has planned.

Tesla shares have been at their worst in the last year and it is time for them to figure something out but Norway does become a shot in their arm now.

  • Oregon to ban sale of fuel-powered vehicles by 2035.

The cars which are powered on fuel, light-duty trucks along with SUVs are now going to be out of Oregon as Oregon is banning the sale of these vehicles in Oregon by the year 2035. This is an effort which comes as Oregon is going to aim to cut the climate change emissions by as much as 50% by the year 2035 and by 90% by 2050. The transportation sector is going to account for close to 40% of the emissions in Oregon and is also the biggest pollution source in United States.

The policymakers of the state have approved a rule which is going to ban the sale of the new gasoline-powered vehicles in the city by the year 2035.

The rule has also been adopted by California and it requires the car manufacturers to sell a major percentage of the zero-emission vehicles as a part of the total sale. The target for them is 35% in 2026 and has been increased to 100% by the year 2035.

This is a ban which doesn’t affect the cars which are already on road and doesn’t require the Oregonians to stop the buying of fuel powered vehicles. The used vehicles will be available for further sale in the state but the sales of a new car will be banned and will have to be done out of the state.

However over a dozen states are now going to follow the same policy and Oregon is going to be the third state to adopt this act. The act allows Oregon and the other states to either align with the emission standard which are federally proposed or with California’s stringent rules.

This is going to be an important step by Oregon to increase the focus on electric vehicles with such regulation encouraging people to buy electric vehicles.

  • Rwanda electric Vehicles not going as planned by the government.

Rwanda electric vehicles market may not be going as planned because of the rugged and rural terrain. Rwanda is called the land of thousand hills and is not the ideal place for electric vehicles as it is tough on any car but is particularly tough for the heavy batteries.

The president of the country however has plans of transforming economy of the country. A major plan of the country is to cut the greenhouse emission of gas and reduce the dependence on the imported fossil fuels that currently accounts for more than 40% of the foreign exchange spending of the country.

The government right now has been launching a huge range of incentives for encouraging the electric vehicles. The electric vehicles and their spare parts, charging station and batteries are exempted now from import duties, excise and VAT.

While the electric vehicles may be charged at the subsidized electricity tariff, the government is also handing out the rent-free land for charging bays. Volkswagen from Germany was among the first beneficiaries of the strategies of the government. It launched Rwanda’s e-golf model in the year 2019. The pilot project started with four of the cars and two stations in Kigali

The plan originally for VW was for the expansion of the service to 15 charging stations and 50 cars as a part of the cab-related app which is known as Move.

Though, in actuality, three years later just 20 of the cars that they committed are on the road and they have been removed from Move completely. Instead, these are used for carrying customers from many high-end hotels, international airports or the convention center.

VW however has been optimistic still and it is going to be a factor in how the country’s growth in the coming years in terms of electric vehicles.

  • Car Manufacturers dropping AM radio due to electromagnetic interferences.

Car manufacturers say that the electromagnetic interferences cause static and noise on the AM transmissions which annoy the customers. The broadcasters have said that they may lose a connection to the core listeners who are reliant on radio for the emergencies. For close to a century, the drivers are used to listening AM radio for the updates with traffic, sports, weather, news and a variety of other programs

However, this is a dashboard regular which may be on its way out as the electric vehicles will start grabbing more of the marketplace in America.

An increase in the number of electric models which are dropping the AM radio option could be a worrying sign for the broadcasters as a whole and deprive the drivers of a crucial news source in case of emergencies.

The car makers have said that the electric vehicles generate a lot more electromagnetic interference than the fuel-powered vehicles which may disrupt the AM signal disruption and cause the noise, static and a high -frequency humming sound.

Instead of frustrating customers with the inferior reception and the noise, the decision had been made for leaving it off the vehicles which feature the eDrive technologies.

Tesla, Porsche, Audi and Volvo are a few more companies which have removed the AM radio from the electric vehicle and Volkswagen has also removed it from its SUV. Due to the same reception problems, Ford and Audi has said that it will also be dropping its AM radio from the electric pickup truck.

A few experts have said that the problems related to the reception are not something they cannot overcome. The electromagnetic interferences may be controlled with the shielding cables, careful placement and filters in the electrical components in a vehicle.  The technology owners are going to have to find a solution for this.

  • Electric vehicle Charging not going to affect the grid supply or systems.

An increase in the electric vehicle sales maybe lead to the electric vehicle cost being lowered for every customer. Electric vehicle charging has been a topic of discussion in the recent past. As per a study, it was shown that the Electric Vehicle users do not receive subsidies from the customers and that in actuality is going to drive the price down.

Overall, the Electric vehicle consumers have been providing over $1.87 billion in terms of net revenue to the customers’ utility between the year 2012 and the year 2021 in three of the utility services which are based in the United States.

For avoiding the effects of the climate change and the protection of public health, the transportation sector needs to be completely restructured. The transport sector has been among the largest sources of the world of global warming pollution and a big source of the harmful local pollution in the air. To put it simply, there is a need for a broader adoption of the electric vehicles like trucks, buses and cars etc. which get powered by the electricity. This is a grid which is already clean enough that the Electric Vehicles cut the emissions at an enormous level but it is increasingly based on the sources which are emission-free like solar and wind.

There is a common misconception that the Electric vehicle charging is going to strain the system of electricity and need require any expensive upgrades which might raise the prices of electricity. However, the opposite is visible in the world as per studies where electricity is able to charge when people are sleep and there is a lot of electricity still present when the electricity is used. So electric vehicle charging infrastructure has not been hampering the electric vehicle system in any form at all and the common misconception should be done away with for the use of electricity.

General Motors is going ahead with its plans which include the installation of 40,000 EV chargers. Most of which is going to take place in the rural parts in America. This is going to come as the plans of GM including selling exclusively for the zero-emission passenger vehicles by the year 2035. • Fully Electric vehicles are now 11% of all cars sold

The number of plugin vehicle registrations which were made all around the world in the month of October were up by around 55% when compared to the same month in 2021 as it reached as many as 932,000 units. As a result, this is the second best ever. This was just behind the number of registrations made in the previous month. With a month that strong, the plugins had represented 16% of the overall market. The Battery electric vehicles which are also called the fully electric vehicles have now reached 11% share in the market. This is a number which could have been higher than this had the market not been in the recovery mode. This in addition to the fact that the HEVs also posted their highest rate of growth is a confirmation again that the ICE markets and HEVs are correlated to each other.

Growth rate of BEV in the month of October year on year was around 54% and was slightly smaller than the plugin hybrids but if China was excluded from this tally, it can be determined that the PHEVs were up only by 5%. Still this can be the best time since February that the market has gone up without any intervention from China. Many markets in Europe, most notably Germany are going to end their incentives by the end of the year on the PHEVs and therefore, it’s sales are considerably increasing. A further rush is expected in the markets all over the world to buy the PHEVs with the subsidies. The growth in the Fully electric vehicles is a positive sign too while the dominance of China remains unparalleled in the market and will continue to do so as there are many encouraging steps been taken by their government and that is going to help the market grow continuously.
